Sebastian Antal (b. 2005, Constanța, Romania) is a Romanian visual artist, photographer, and filmmaker based between Bucharest and Constanța. Working across photography, moving image, and installation, his practice explores memory, identity, and perception through both conceptual and documentary approaches. His work investigates the relationship between personal experience, urban environments, and the ways images construct and transform reality.
Antal uses photography and film as tools for artistic research, often incorporating reflection, material intervention, and experimental processes to challenge conventional forms of representation. His projects examine themes of presence, absence, and the fragility of memory, moving between documentary observation and conceptual image-making.
He studied Artistic Photography at the Theodor T. Burada Cultural Centre in Constanța before pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Photo–Video at the National University of Arts Bucharest (UNArte). His work has been presented at LeiLei Gallery, Atelier 35, UNA Gallery, and Jean Constantin Cinema in Constanța. He is currently an artist-in-residence at ZAC in Bucharest, where he continues to develop photographic, film, and installation-based projects.
